Cool, Super-Neat, and Really Fun -part two

Sorry...I rushed to get my work done so I could finish.
Ok, so my story left off after getting to the AI finals and being called out of my row by an unknown man in a suit with a clipboard....

I say "hi I' m kelley."
He hands me an envelope and says " here are your tickets to the 'Idol after party.' A what? Me? Where? A little dazed I walk back to my seat with these silvery shiny tickets and everyone is asking...'what happened', 'what did you do.' (these were 'strangers' asking me...afterwards, I found that odd?) I told mom what had happened. (And everyone else around who were very poorly 'pretending' not to listen in.) One woman turned around and asked if I was going to go? "AAaaHh Yes, I guess." (like I would sell or give them? I was a bit dazzled by the bright and shiny; but not stupid.)

Moving on.... 97 MILLION VOTES later.....

Here is where I run out of adjectives. The show was so great. If anyone liked Idol, I would suggest to go see the AI tour. It was very fun, all the songs you know and cant help but sing along. You dance in your seat and it is just good clean fun. As the evening went on I was more and more ga-ga over David Cook. He is an excellent performer. ZZTop wan fantastic...Bryan Adams awesome....Donna Summers still has an insane voice...Sayesha, Carrie Underwood, everyone gave outstanding performance. The entire night I kept trying to guess who had won. 97 MILLION VOTES- is that insane? First I thought, DC is having more solos than DA..so DA must have won. They are giving DC this one last night on stage....then a bit later I would change my mind....DC has all the solos b/c he is the winner. But then that would mean they new who had won? In the end it was DC and his response on stage was so normal and natural....It was an awesome and amazing experience. I am so lucky to have won these tickets!

Before all the glitter had hit the floor, we headed out to the after party. Have any of you ever been to an after party before? Not me; but it was exactly like you see it on TV. I felt like I walked into Entertainment tonight.
Red Carpet leading into the tent. Actual paparazzi taking photos(see photo below)....that is another first for me. We walked into the tent and it was a party like I have never seen. Food buffets of all kinds...one buffet was like a 'fast food' restaurant gourmet teeny hamburgers, tinsy hot dogs. onion rings, and fries. One buffet was kind of a sushi, fish line. The cool thing there were these little shrimp cocktail shooters. 2 huge shrimps in this little shot glass- how cute!
There was also a dessert bar, with hand made Twinkies and Ding Dongs, pies, cakes and and an ice-cream sundae bar. It was like being at Willy Wonka Chocolate factory. There were girls handing out drinks and food and Cir de Soleil girls hanging from the ceiling doing their acrobat tricks. There was an airbrush tattoo artist, a photo booth you could get you picture taken with they guy in silver..you know the one with the big hat and cape that auditioned but did not make it. There was free SWAG(Stuff We All Got) all over the place and we just filled our greedy little hands and sat down to people watch.

**Warning**Warning ** Gross Generalization about to occur** Warning**Warning

The people watching was the BEST. This party was like the mecca for people watching. I have never seen a crowd that was so styled, done-up, made-up, high heel shoes, fake giant boobs, tiny clothes all running around after stars. The only word that comes to mind is a giant display of excess. Here I was in just a 'cute' little outfit- long shorts, cute top with jean jacket- just my normal 'mom' night-out clothes. I looked cute and I am fine with that....but it was clear,I was so the odd man out in that crowd of glittering fancy pants. ( well maybe the guy in the silver cape was a bit more odd than I; but he was a special odd.) It also struck me that these people (gross generalization coming again) did not seem to think that rules applied to them. One time we were in the food line ...yet again :)... with a huge line of people behind us. We were just about to step to the table when one of the glittering fancy pants walked up to me and asked *insert sickly-sweet voice here*
"Is this the end of the line?"
I looked at her and told her "sorry,no" ...pointed her to the end of the line...
" Oh my gosh, do you think I could just come in with you?" ( A.rude B. no )
I said ..." Gosh I don't mind, but maybe the 87 people behind me might?"
She looked at me, then down the line, then back at me...clearly shocked that I did not say "sure...come on in."
Now, I am not a mean person...there was just something in the way she asked. It was just so assuming that she was more important then anyone else and certainly could not wait in line. I guess that is a pet peeve of mine.
It was not 2 minutes latter that I saw her & her posse walk by with a plates full of food. So she clearly didn't wait in line, probably never has and likely never will.
But you know what, when I think about her, I am sure she was not as delighted and stoked about the cute little blinking plastic American Idol shaped ice cube in her drink as I was...or with the super-neat blinking FOX cup from my other drink. She was so totally above how cute the tiny little hot dogs were and the cute shrimp shooter. She was not out grabbing the free David Cook postcards and the adorable little Coke bottles. To me, she missed out.
She was one of the glittering fancy and so used to this that all these fun little excitements were nothing. Isn't that sad?
I went home with a purse full of junk...but I love all that junk! My son freaked over the blinking ice cubes! I don't think I have gotten him to drink as much milk in a year as this past week with the Fox blinking cup.
As the night ended, we were making out way out of the party and the last stop was a table where they gave us each this teeny tiny little FOX/ American Idol speaker that plugs into your I-POD. How stinking cute is that!
Can you end a night any better?

The next morning, we heading home. An uneventful end to a cool, super-neat and really fun momcation.

PS. Here are a couple questions my friends asked me when I got back. If you have any questions, just let me know. I will answer them all if I can.

1. What is Paula like? Not that I met her and we had a chance to discuss; but she is very cute. Small...petite...very pretty...very fun. She seemed to shake any ones hand and had time for anyone that came up to her.
2. Does Simon have alot of chest hair? ( I know...of all the questions??) Yes, he is pretty hairy, in my opinion...but I guess it is all what your used to.
3. Did you see any stars...Um, yah. Do you mean did I meet any? No, I did not meet anyone.
They did walk through the crowd with their 'handlers'. People could come up to them and they would chat, sign, shake...the usual. I was never close enough. Had to be in the right place at the right time.
