I was a busy little beaver this weekend. Something about the rain, I guess. But whatever it was, I managed a quick and cute re-do to my ho-hum entryway and all for under 5 bucks!
I started with these supplies: 8X10 canvas ( Wal-Mart 3 for $2.97), wooden clothes pin, black vinyl, leftover scrap paper, ModPodge, and a plate stand from the Dollar store for… you guessed it… $1.00.
First step was to Mod Podge the scrap paper onto the canvas. Then I sanded and stained a bit around the edges to make it a little more shabby and little more chic. ( I did the same thing to the clothes pin.) Next, I cut out a cute saying out of black vinyl, stuck it on the canvas, then glued on the clothes pin. I went out and found a cute photo and popped that under the clothes pin. And in about 10 minutes had a new focal point.
The next step was just to clean off the table and re-arrange into a cute little vignette.
The cool thing is that most all of this was from scraps I already had. So, just did through all your supplies and use whatever is on hand. It was fun in that I really did not know what I was going to make when I started; but scraps started to come together and voila!
Frumpy to Fun in just 10 minutes.

This is so cute and sweet! I've seen these in a couple specialty shops around town and really like the saying you have on it PLUS I love love love the cost. :) FUN! Thanks for posting.
That's my kind of project--great job!
