Here is a super cute gift that is extremely easy to make. Cute and easy, is your heart beating fast? Mine always does when I read a craft blog that includes cute and easy.
Anyway, I made these shirts for my nephew and his baby brother who is due here in September. I wanted to get Luke something to open at the baby shower; so he would not feel left out as mom and little brother were getting all the attention.
I started with your basic white shirts ( Gerber from Walmart) and heat transfer vinyl. I am sure you have seen this stuff, right? If not, run away now.
Avert your eyes, quick! It’s too late for me; but save yourself!
Oh, you dared to stay? Well good for you because this is the coolest ever!
Vinyl heat transfer paper. There I said it. There are lots of places to get it and more seem to pop up all the time. I got mine from PrintOnIt. The vinyl comes in sheets and quite simply, all you do is cut out a design, shape or letters and iron it on.
For my older nephew, I used my Circuit and cut out “FRICK” in red jigsaw puzzle pieces. For his new baby brother, I cut out the word “FRACK” in blue puzzle pieces and then I put the words together on each shirt alternating between the red and blue.
The next step was to iron the letters on using a hot iron.
( Just follow the instructions from the manufacturer.) The one tip I can give you is to make sure you cut in reverse or ‘flip’ so the letters are correct when you go to iron them on.
Anyone interested in a shirt that says “KCARF”? I have one cheap to sell. Ha. Other that that small mishap, this project was very
simple.
The boys are going to look so cute in these matching shirts. I have made about a zillion more for my sister to give to her at the shower this weekend. I cant wait for her to see them.

what a cute idea... no need for a kcarf shirt... but I'm sure you'll come up with something crafty to do with it ;)
Frick & Frack OHHHH my goodness how cute are they going to look! I love these kind of shirts. I bought a set for my girls off of Etsy when my little one was born last year. My sister is also due in September and she just ordered some too. So fun to have personalized things!!!
I'm going to try this soon. I've got a Silhouette and I've been wanting to try it.
They look so cute!!
I have never heard of iron on vinyl...maybe because I never have used my cricut. BUT - this may be the thing that gets me moving on using it! Love those shirts...just last night my friend and I were talking that we need to make our kids shirts that say frick and frack!
I sent you an email, but just want to make sure you got it - winner fo the Gorilla Glue package!
I hadn't heard of iron vinyl yet - now it's too late! I need to get me some soon.
